Our daycare works hard to stay posted on the most up-to-date teaching methods. We are constantly changing our curriculum but maintain basic methods that we believe nurture children’s learning. Our methods are exemplified in the activities we do with the kids. Our activities are broken up into "Activity Areas" titled:
-Learning Time & Arts and Crafts -Library -Drama Area - Dress-up clothes, play kitchen -Music Area - Keyboard player, music guitar, other instruments -Outdoor Area - Playscape, pool, balls, sandbox, jump rope, sidewalk chalk -Manipulative Area - Puzzles, blocks, cars & trucks, doll houses
Here at Safe Haven Daycare, children learn by doing things themselves and we provide them with an endless amount of enthusiasm and tools to explore with. Our daycare is filled with toys, games, musical instruments and books. Our main focus is to get them ready for Kindergarten. The children will learn letters & sounds, numbers, counting by 5's and 10's, shapes, colors, money, nursery rhymes, songs, calendar, and how to write their: full name, phone number, and home address. We also participate in the Sight Word Reader's programs and Scholastic book club. We also have a Child Safety Program where we teach the children simple basic safety skills such as no talking to strangers, learn how to dial 911, fire, tornado, and road safety skills.
We celebrate birthdays, holidays and other special events. Field trips to various places such as: The Zoo, Apple Orchards, Java Jungle, Fire Station, Domino's Farm, Public Library, Children’s hands on museum, and local parks.
